Today I was craving my favorite beverage of the moment – chai tea latte. But I don’t like it from just any coffee shop, nope. It’s got to be from the Tea Zone:)  A friend introduced me to this little place a couple of years ago when she planned a happy hour get together with the girls. I walk by it to and from the gym and find myself popping in more often than not.

From the outside it appears to be just another Portland tea/coffee shop. But if you venture into the back, you’ll see the Camelia Lounge which has a cool semi bohemian look. (Shown mid afternoon before the happy hour rush.)The vibe gets even better at night with regular live music. But it’s not just the tea and music that make this spot. The food and sweet treats are fantastic.

The teas are brewed on the spot and sweetened to your taste. I like “medium” sweetness and nonfat milk. Check out the beautiful color and lovely glass mug. And there’s more in the pot…

If chai tea is not your thing, don’t be afraid to ask for a recommendation. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction!
